Israel be’olam is a feature-length documentary that profiles the lives of Israelis who have chosen to build their lives abroad. We trace the journeys of Israelis that have navigated the challenges of building a new life and navigating the complexities of dual identity. Balancing this pull of heritage with the rhythms of adopted cultures defines a sabra abroad.

Itai Ben-David is an Israeli-born filmmaker and visual storyteller whose work explores the intersection of identity, culture, and belonging. Raised in Tel Aviv, Itai has lived in Berlin, Bangkok, and New York. Itai brings a unique dual perspective to his projects—deeply rooted in Israeli life, yet shaped by years of living and working abroad.
With a background in documentary filmmaking and journalism, Itai has traveled extensively, capturing human stories that transcend borders. Israel be’olam, his latest documentary, is both a personal and global exploration of what it means to live between worlds. Inspired by his own experience as an Israeli abroad, Itai profiles fellow Israelis who have built lives outside of Israel.
